Dear friends - God's love
Is like the shade beneath a single
Tree - under the burning sun - and - like a 
River in the desert - where the cooling waters run
Refreshing and life-giving - to all who drink
Deeply - from its healing balm - bringing
Cooling to the fevered brow - and 
To  the  troubled  heart - 
Its  calm.


For - sheltered underneath
The branches - of the Tree of Life
God's sheep can know such love - safe
Within the Shepherd's care - and His angels - up
Above - who protect us from the dangers - that 
Are lurking all around - and keep us
Safe together - until God leads
Us upwards -  to His
Higher Ground. 


But - before we reach that 
Higher ground - where our hearts 
Are safe  and free  - God often leads  us 
Through the valleys - and the darkness - with its
Deep uncertainty - but - He has promised to
Be with us - and deliver us from fear -
And never to forsake us - but -
By faith - we can know for
Certain - that He is
Always near.


Yes dear friends - our God 
Of Love and deep compassion - is
With us through the journey - that we face 
Today - through all the highs and lows - that we 
Experience - as we travel on life's way - and
When the journey's over - and our life on
Earth comes to an end - we can take
The outstretched hand of Jesus 
Who will always be - our 

Loving  Saviour  -  and   

Our Shepherd - and our

Everlasting  Father - and

Our forever - Faithful 

Friend .
